🤖 Android Installation Guide

How to install your Simpal eSIM on Android

Your Simpal email includes a direct Android install option, a QR code, and manual activation details. Because Android menus vary by device manufacturer, the labels may differ slightly, but the setup flow is usually very similar.

Three checks before installation

Android eSIM support depends on the handset model, region, carrier lock status, and manufacturer software.

1. Make sure your Android phone supports eSIM

Not all Android devices support eSIM, and support can vary even within the same model range depending on country or carrier version.

2. Use a stable Wi-Fi connection

Download and installation generally require internet access. Use Wi-Fi during setup wherever possible.

3. Keep your existing SIM active until setup is complete

Do not remove or disable your main line until the Simpal eSIM has been added successfully and you are confident the profile is installed correctly.

Install using the Android button in your email

This is the easiest option when you open your Simpal delivery email on the same Android device you want to use.

1

Open the Simpal email on your Android phone

Use the device that will actually carry the eSIM. Open the delivery email that includes your QR code and installation details.

2

Tap “Install on Android”

Your email includes a direct Android installation link generated from the activation code. On supported devices this can launch the setup flow directly.

This is usually quicker than manually typing activation details.
3

Follow the on-screen prompts

The exact wording varies by manufacturer, but look for steps such as:

  1. Add eSIM
  2. Download SIM
  3. Add mobile plan
  4. Use SIM for data
4

Choose which SIM handles mobile data

After installation, set your Simpal eSIM as the preferred data SIM when appropriate.

Before you travel or use data abroad, double-check that your home SIM is not still set as the active data line if you want to avoid roaming charges.

Install using the QR code

This is the most universal method across Android devices and is a strong fallback if the direct install link does not open properly.

1

Show the QR code on another screen

Open the Simpal email on a second device such as a laptop, tablet, or another phone. You can also try pressing and holding the QR code on some Android devices when viewing it on-device.

Long-press behaviour on Android varies. On many devices it may open Google Lens or scanning options, which can still help trigger the install flow.
2

Find the eSIM settings on your phone

Menu labels vary by manufacturer, but common paths include:

  • Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs
  • Settings > Connections > SIM Manager
  • Settings > Mobile Network

Look for options like Add eSIM, Add mobile plan, or Download SIM.

3

Scan the QR code

Use your Android device to scan the QR code, then confirm the download and installation steps shown by the phone.

If scanning fails, increase the brightness of the screen displaying the QR code and make sure the image is not zoomed or cropped.

Manual setup using activation details

Manual installation is useful if your device offers an entry field for activation data rather than scanning a QR code.

1

Locate your activation details in the Simpal email

Your email may include:

  • activation code
  • manual code
  • other carrier provisioning details
2

Open the manual entry screen

Depending on your device, the option may appear after choosing to add an eSIM. Some devices say Need help?, Enter code manually, or Use activation code.

3

Paste the details exactly

Copy and paste whenever possible. Avoid retyping long activation strings manually unless necessary.

A single wrong character can cause installation to fail. Always match the email exactly.

Common Android setup issues

Android setups differ across Samsung, Google Pixel, Motorola, Xiaomi, Oppo and other brands, but these fixes cover the most common problems.

The direct install link does nothing

Try opening the email in a different mail app or browser on the phone. If the direct link still does not work, use the QR code or manual setup instead.

I cannot find the eSIM menu

Use your Settings search bar and search for “eSIM”, “SIM manager”, “mobile plan”, or “download SIM”. Manufacturers place the menu in different locations.

The QR code will not scan

Check Wi-Fi, clean the camera, increase screen brightness on the QR display device, and try a different angle. You can also switch to manual setup if available.

The phone says the device is not supported

This can indicate that the handset lacks eSIM support or is carrier locked. Even some phones marketed internationally have region-specific limitations.

The eSIM installed, but data does not work

Make sure the Simpal eSIM is enabled and selected as the preferred data SIM. Some devices also require mobile data roaming to be enabled for travel eSIM use.

I already scanned the code once

Many eSIM profiles can only be installed once. Check whether the eSIM is already present in your SIM settings before attempting to install again.

Still stuck?

Contact Simpal support with your order reference, device model, destination, and any error message shown on screen. That will help diagnose whether the issue is compatibility, activation timing, or installation flow.
